Opportunities for individuals and organisations

Spain

Connecting Global Talent. Prepare for Spanish education and authorized professional activity.

Explore qualifying study, employer-led employment, self-employment and temporary visits in Spain. For applicants from South Asia, the programme or activity, residence location and competent consulate determine the preparation required. Employers can discuss candidate readiness around contracts, qualifications and the authorization relevant to the intended work.

Spain distinguishes higher education and other qualifying educational activities from ordinary employment or independent business. Check current admission and consular guidance, programme charges, maintenance evidence and insurance rather than relying on older student or work summaries. An accepted course, company registration or invitation is not an immigration decision. Professional recognition and lawful arrival formalities need separate preparation.

Choose your Spain journey

Two audiences. One accountable approach.

For individuals

Choose the right Spanish study or activity category

Check the programme, proposed work or business activity against current official conditions. One embassy checklist must not be treated as a universal South Asia procedure.

Spain: Study and academic preparation

Study and qualifying education in Spain

Identify an eligible higher-education programme or other qualifying educational activity and confirm admission and payment evidence. The current New Delhi embassy page covers study stays exceeding 90 days, with funds, insurance and conditional health/criminal documents. Other consular districts must be checked separately. Tuition, teaching language and qualification requirements belong to the chosen institution.

For organisations

Build a stronger workforce

Discuss Spanish hiring around the actual employer authorization, role and recognition requirements. Recruitment preparation does not guarantee a labour-market exception, candidate availability or visa decision.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Spain

Official sources reviewed on 31 October 2026. New Delhi examples are scoped to that mission; other applicants must use their own current consular instructions.

Which activities can qualify for a study visa?

The current New Delhi embassy page lists higher education and specified mobility, volunteer and educational activities, including certain language and professional-certificate programmes. Confirm the exact programme and competent mission conditions.

Read official guidance

What does the New Delhi checklist say about student funds?

It lists a 2026 applicant minimum of EUR 600 per month, linked to 100% of IPREM, and explains accommodation adjustments and supporting evidence. This is not tuition or a realistic total living budget. Check the current calculation and your competent mission requirements.

Read official guidance

How much is Spanish tuition?

Request current programme fees, deposits and refund terms directly from the institution. No national tuition range is quoted here. Language, institution and course level affect admission and charges.

Is ordinary travel insurance enough for a study application?

Do not assume it is. The New Delhi study checklist specifies qualifying health coverage with an insurer authorized in Spain. Confirm the policy conditions required for your own study application.

Read official guidance

Are health and criminal certificates always required?

The New Delhi checklist makes these requirements conditional, including stays exceeding 180 days and age-related conditions for criminal records. Its Indian document legalization instructions must not be generalized to every South Asian country.

Read official guidance

Can I enter for any paid apprenticeship?

No general right is advertised here. Qualifying education, a professional certificate, an apprenticeship contract and employment authorization require separate checks; a provider advertisement is not immigration approval.

Can all students work under the same conditions?

Do not assume identical rights across educational categories. Current national rules and the actual authorization must be checked before work; no universal work-hour limit or graduate-transition period is quoted here.

Does a Spanish job offer authorize entry and work?

No. Ordinary employed entry involves the applicable employer authorization and applicant visa steps. The employment category and any exceptions must be checked for the actual role.

Read official guidance

Does registration alone qualify a self-employed applicant?

No automatic right follows. The official overview describes an activity plan, resources, relevant skills and licences as part of the authorization assessment. Confirm current requirements with the competent authority.

Read official guidance

Can all South Asian applicants use the New Delhi procedure?

No. That mission states its own consular-district competence and submission arrangements. Check the mission responsible for your legal residence and category rather than applying its checklist to every nationality.

Read official guidance

What are the basic Schengen visit rules?

The Commission lists up to 90 days in any 180-day period, a standard adult fee of EUR 90 and normal processing of 15 days, extendable to 45 days. Exemptions, centre charges and appointment delays are separate. A visitor visa is not ordinary employment authorization.

Read official guidance

Can a course, job or visa decision be guaranteed?

No. Confirm the scope of preparation support and verify institutions, employers and invitations. Authority, institution and employer decisions are independent, and no approval or start date is promised.
